Well, I guess it's over for now, but I'm sure
when the next part of the saga comes along it'll
be worth the wait. In the meantime, I'll be keeping
up with your other WIP's. Can't wait to see how
Spike copes with Dawn from the POV of a father instead
of an accomplice, but as long as you're writing
something I'm happy.

Chapters 36 and 37

First of all, I like the new look of the site,
beginning with that incredible first screen. Loved
it. Great work. I like the way these two chapters
fit together, showing Spike and Riley cooperating,
even if they're still both sniping verbally. Riley
has already risked a great deal; here he risks it
all to rescue Buffy. Spike, in turn, risks his own
life to save Riley's. Very satisfying. I do wonder
about the wisdom of Willow getting in touch with
Dr. Chan, but I guess we'll find out about that
in another chapter or so.

Nicely done with Riley the hero. Poor Spike having
to actually rescue the Cardboard Cut-out, but then
he'd feel even worse if he felt indebted to him.
Poor Buffy, too. Not the best time to go into labour.
Having said that, if early indications are anything
to go by, then everyone around her is going to be
suffering soon as well. It really looks like you'll
be moving onto "Three for a Girl" very
shortly.

Chapter 31
|
|
You write such wonderfully
complicated stories. You've made us hurt so much for Spike and Buffy in this
story that I was afraid they'd remain in Dawson's hands, that she'd rip Zara
away from them. I'm glad Riley came to the rescue, and I think he really does
intend to help them. I can imagine reasons for him not to return them home; for
one thing, if Dawson has the power to raid medical offices and kidnap humans,
she must have some support from those above her, and returning Buffy and Spike
would just set them up to be targets yet again. It will be interesting to see
what Riley and Simon intend to do with Dawson. |

Chapter 30

I felt ill with apprehension when I came to the end of this chapter. You've made
me really care about the characters. Having Dawson capture both Buffy and Spike
so easily was a shock, although it was a very believable development in the
story. Now I'm worried, even more so than I was when it was just Spike who was a
prisoner. At least they have a couple of secret weapons in Anya and Riley, as
well as other resources like the coven. May I hope that Dawson comes to a
miserable end? |

Chapter 27
|
|
It's wonderful to have
Spike back, mentally as well as physically. Thanks for the recap of some of the
conflicting groups in play at this point. The Defenders of Humanity, Dawson with
her own agenda, Jacob's people, the followers of Blar, and Dawn/Zara and
whatever she represents. One point I'm still not clear on is this. Now that
we've met Zara, I assume that the little girl who explained things to Spike
early in "One for Sorrow" was either Zara or connected to her. At that point,
she tells him that Buffy has been changed physically when she was brought back,
as he was to have been/will be. Did she/they know that the changes would make
Buffy and Spike of interest to the DoH (if you're a Simpsons fan, that acronym
is loaded with irony)? Or was that unforeseen? Please don't hold it against me
if I admit I liked Riley on the show, even if he was wrong for Buffy. How sorry
I feel for him depends on whether I think he set Spike up to be the fall guy in
the demon eggs thing or whether there was just a misunderstanding. In "One for
Sorrow," he struck me as a tragic figure, responsible for his own downfall. Now
that it appears he was both possessed and brainwashed, I wonder how much he was
really accountable for. And while his current motives are honorable and his
loyalties seem clear, I can't help but wonder if he's being set up to betray
Buffy and the others. This seems especially likely since, although Dawson et al.
don't know what happened to Spike, it's far more likely that he was rescued than
that he managed to escape, and they know of Buffy's connection with Spike and
Riley's interest in Buffy. They might well suspect Buffy had something to do
with Spike's disappearance. |

Chapter 27

Okay, you're making it hard
to keep hating him. Very hard. By letting us in on what he's thinking, you
manage to eliminate that lingering distrust from the reader's mind, if not from
the Scoobies'. Keeping the baby's paternity a secret is going to put a bit of a
cramp in B & S's living arrangements. Look forward to seeing Spike's
reaction to that suggestion. |

clever- how he came back but he wasnt actually back. but then with the blood and

Things seem to have moved
on so fast, I don't know where to start. Glad that Giles is finally noticing the
changes in Spike, and I hope that Buffy's ministrations prove successful.
Hopeful that Riley can be cured of as much of his bigotry as isn't inate to his
make up, and quite curious to see just how much is left at the end of the day.
And of course just plain intrigued as to how everything will work out, as

sorry i didnt reveiw last
chapter. been soo busy at the moment. anyway loving both these chapters. i had
to think for a while until i put two and two together with rebecca and jacob-
with spike. i'm a little slow!! little confused about what the jewlery device
thing was on her arm.... was that what she used to get here? i think maybe i
missed a bit there- its late, i'm tired- cant be helped. will probably re-read
tomorrow or something. anyway it looks like there one step closer finding spike-
which is good. as much as i want him back i do actually like the way you havent
rushed it, makes it seem more realistic- its obvious they wouldnt be easy to
find so its good that there having trouble- even though i do hope hes back soon!
poor buffy- all pregnant and stuff. anyway. may reveiw again tomorrow or
sometime soon- probably re-read when i'm less tired- but i wanted to reveiw now

Heyyy! I was reading this
chapter the second time when it suddenly dawned on me that you had said it
wouldn't happen. Never mind. Still good work even if it was from Xander's
viewpoint;) Rightly, or wrongly I'm assuming from the description that Buffy's
rescuee is either Spike's scholarly companion or someone who has come looking
for him. Either way it opens up a second possibility for how to get Spike back,
so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. |

Chapter 19
|
|
A lot of what I really
liked in this chapter was all to do with the subtext of all the group
relationships and how they're changing. Anya's coming into her own, and being
accepted on her own merits instead of as an adjunct to Xander. Willow seems to
be recovering, but is there any way to know that the same thing won't just
happen again. It seems blasphemous to say it (and it's in total contradiction to
my review last chapter), but getting Spike back will happen in its own time (I'm
sure). For now I'll quite happily follow the character development |

Chapter 19

great chapter. i like the
way you show anya's charecter- its like she's always been caring but she just
cant show it that well. and thats how she is on the show- you've captured her
character excellently! i think its great she is helping so much. it was good to
see her telling xander how immature he is- with not liking any other men in
buffy's life that are more important than him- i think that is exactly what it
is. and its about time someone showed him that.
again i hope they get spike back soon. and i hope willow is okay- i hope
her and buffy can build there friendship again. i really hope her and jenna's
plan works also- and it doesnt harm willow or anything- and that it can get
riley to help spike. anyway keep up the great writing! look forward to the next
chapter. |

At last, we have light at
the end of the tunnel. Let's hope Willow and Jenna's plan works and they can get
Riley to help get our Spike back pronto. On another note, Anya has become so
much stronger because of the fallout from the wedding fiasco. Xander, however
doesn't even seem to realise it, let alone appreciate it. Maybe, he'll wise up
before it's too late this time, (or not). |

Loved the new chapter. It
made an interesting little bit of backstory and seemed so `right` for the
Initiative to make use of what a demon has to offer while at the same time
plotting to kill him. Let`s hope that our favourite vamp can come up with a way
to use the information that he now has. |
Chris
|
|
Yes, Dawson definitely
needs to suffer. Or is she being controlled, like Riley is? Probably not, since
she was involved with the Initiative. In any case, whoever or whatever was
behind the Initiative was obviously evil, experimenting on both demons and
humans. Whether it's the same evil now in charge, I'm not sure.rnrnMeanwhile,
Spike, Buffy, and Riley seem to be tied together, none of them quite human, none
of them quite whole. While the residual energy from the Orb wants to use Riley
to destroy Buffy, is Spike himself becoming a balancing force? Intriguing, that
their enemies have encapsulated Spike, just like the evil was encapsulated in
the Orb. rnrn. As always, I'm looking forward to the next chapter. |
Tales

Another good solid chapter.
I liked how Buffy is doing her best to hold off on all the baby stuff, until she
gets Spike back. As for Xander.. Sometimes you have to feel sorry for him. He
tries so hard, but he really doesn't have a clue. He'll probably die from the
shock if he ever finally sees the world the way it really is |
Tales
|
|
I quite like the way you're
switching perspectives throughout the story, and it was a surprise to find this
chapter was mostly from Willow's viewpoint. It must be very awkward for her to
come home to find a house full of "strangers", even if she had been able to see.
It'll be interesting to see how well she manages to work around her disability,
and whether she can be of use in helping to get Spike back. One request, though.
I'm not sure I want to see a chapter with how things look from inside Xander's
head. |
